Childhood flies by in a haze of intense and contrasting emotions and discovery, a yearning for adulthood (in my case at least!), and for those of us who are really lucky, lots of love. It is fleeting, and yet so important.

Family  bonds are like no other and form the soil on which life grows.

OUR SESSION AND YOUR PHOTOS

My photos of children and family are understated, intimate and authentic. I use a combination of naturalistic, reportage photography and posed portraits to create a set of photos which communicate the emotion and intensity of family life. I work to capture the connection and friendship between individuals, and the simple, intense beauty of the little ones.

ON LOCATION

As with all my sessions, I work on location – for families, this can be at home, at a favourite park or local beauty spot, or a combination to suit. The most important thing is that everyone is warm enough and stimulated – the rest is up to me. As well as images of everyone together, I take portraits of smaller groups and individuals, and document the details and surroundings.

WORRIED ABOUT YOUR LITTLE ONE (OR BIG ONE) NOT CO-OPERATING?

Most parents are, but you don’t need to be. I’m a mum myself and I know the tricks to get good shots. I have experience of working with all sorts of families and little (and big ones) from all age groups, including toddlers, teens and children with autism.
